Itanagar: Seppa Police have seized approximately 125.8 grams of suspected heroin in the largest narcotics operation ever recorded in the East Kameng District. Officers recovered 108 vials of the substance during a checkpoint operation on NH-13 near the Pampoli and Thursday Market area.
Authorities acted on intelligence regarding a drug shipment traveling from Assam to Seppa. During the search, officers also confiscated an insulin syringe, small amounts of cannabis and seeds, and 10,010 rupees in cash. Two individuals were taken into custody at the scene.
The recovery process took place in the presence of an Executive Magistrate and was documented via the e-Sakshya platform. All seized materials are now held at the police station following the completion of legal procedures.
The department has officially registered a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. A spokesperson stated, "East Kameng Police reiterated its commitment to the sustained campaign against trafficking and abuse of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances." Officials are currently continuing their investigation and have requested public cooperation in reporting illegal drug activities.
