Imphal: Senapati's Deputy Commissioner wants an SSC test site in the district. He sent a formal request to the Staff Selection Commission regional director to set up a center locally. Students now face long, expensive trips to reach testing sites far from home.

These journeys create safety risks and heavy costs for rural test takers. The commute often prevents qualified people from signing up. It hits their performance too. The district head said, "Such challenges often discourage deserving candidates from appearing for examinations and may adversely affect their performance."

Officials offered the NIELIT information technology center to host the tests. They claim the building meets all technical requirements. The local administration promised full support and coordination to ensure exams run without a hitch. The commission now needs to visit the site to check if it fits their standards for an official exam venue.
