Imphal: The Senapati District Administration delivered essential food supplies to hundreds of stranded truck drivers and their assistants on Thursday. The relief effort addressed a growing humanitarian crisis caused by a nine-day bandh that began on May 13, 2026, leaving many transporters stuck along National Highway-2.

Officials distributed bags of rice and dal to the occupants of 508 vehicles currently halted along the stretch of the highway between Senapati and Mao. The initiative aims to alleviate the severe hardships and daily inconveniences faced by the workers while they remain stranded during the ongoing blockade.
