Imphal: Security forces have expanded their combing and search operations across the Kangpokpi district of Manipur as part of a dedicated effort to locate individuals reported missing in the region. The latest maneuvers focused on the hill ranges situated to the northwest of Leilon Vaiphei and Kharam Vaiphei villages, with authorities confirming that these strategic efforts remain ongoing.
Parallel to the search missions in Kangpokpi, law enforcement officials achieved a significant security breakthrough on May 17 in the Imphal East district. During a targeted operation, security personnel apprehended Laishram Jivan Singh, a 38-year-old resident of Langmeidong who has been identified as an active cadre of the proscribed militant organization PREPAK.
The suspect was taken into custody at Khabam Lamkhai Makha Leikai, located within the jurisdiction of the Heingang Police Station. Police have confirmed that an investigation into the matter is currently underway to determine the extent of his involvement in recent activities.
