Imphal: Security forces have ramped up combing and search operations throughout the hill ranges northwest of Leilon Vaiphei and Kharam Vaiphei villages in Manipur’s Kangpokpi district. These ongoing efforts are primarily focused on locating missing individuals within the region, and authorities have confirmed that the operations remain active as they continue to secure the area.

In a concurrent effort to bolster internal security, security personnel conducted a targeted operation on May 17 in the Imphal East district. This led to the apprehension of 38-year-old Laishram Jivan Singh, an active member of the People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK). The suspect, a resident of Langmeidong, was detained near Khabam Lamkhai Makha Leikai within the jurisdiction of the Heingang Police Station.

Beyond counter-militancy measures, Manipur Police have also been actively enforcing traffic regulations across the state. Between May 11 and May 17, law enforcement officials issued 82 challans to motorists for various traffic violations. These enforcement efforts resulted in the collection of Rs 1,12,500 in fines, reflecting a broader commitment to maintaining public order and safety.
