Imphal: Security forces swept through Manipur on Sunday. They arrested four insurgents and dragged a massive haul of weapons out of hiding. Operations spanned across Imphal East and Kangpokpi districts.

Police caught three men in the Keikhu area of Imphal East. They identified the group as Elangbam Tomba Singh, 44, Patrick Golmei, 44, and Athokpam Borish Singh, 34. Authorities linked them to the United National Liberation Front-Pambei. Another raid in Andro netted Soram Manaoton Meitei, 32. He belonged to the Kangleipak Communist Party-Meeyamgi Fingang Lanmee. Police took his mobile phone and scooter.

The biggest haul came from the Koubru hill range. Near Mangjol Village, troops raided a militant hideout. They found an INSAS rifle, 24 single-barrel guns, and a double-barrel weapon. The cache also held one pistol, 12 homemade Pompi guns, a grenade, 35 rounds of ammo, and two walkie-talkies.

Police said all the arrested individuals, along with the seized arms and other materials, have been handed over to the respective police stations for further legal action. Officers are now digging into the militant networks. They want to know exactly where these weapons came from.
