Imphal: Manipur Police commandos and central security forces caught an active cadre of the Revolutionary People’s Front on Thursday. The raid hit the Sanjenbam Khullen area of Imphal East. Officers apprehended Athokpam Joychandra Singh, 45, following a tip-off.

Interrogation led the team to the Wakha hill area. They dug up a massive cache of military gear and explosives. The haul included two .32 calibre pistols, various shotguns, five hand grenades, mortar bombs, and dozens of live rounds. They also found tactical jackets and boots.

Authorities handed the suspect and the weapons over to the local police for processing. Officials described the hit as part of their drive to stop violence in the region. A police statement noted: "The operation is part of the ongoing counter-insurgency efforts by Manipur Police and central security forces to curb militant activities across the state."
