Aizawl: Security forces recovered an improvised explosive device and arrested one person during a joint operation in the Seling area of Aizawl district, Mizoram. The Assam Rifles and Aizawl Police conducted the search on June 10 as part of a coordinated effort to secure the region and prevent the transit of illegal or dangerous materials.

Personnel intercepted a suspect identified as Yening Ku during a mobile vehicle check. Along with the explosive device, officials discovered an antenna component and clothing items suspected to be part of an underground cadre uniform. An official statement noted that the "successful operation highlights the continued vigilance of security forces in the region and their commitment to maintaining peace and security in Mizoram."

The suspect and the seized items were transferred to the Aizawl Police to begin legal proceedings. Authorities are currently investigating the origin of the device, its intended purpose, and potential connections to broader criminal or militant networks.
