Imphal: Security forces arrested four suspects and confiscated a significant cache of narcotics and weaponry during coordinated operations in Manipur's Imphal West and Thoubal districts. The Manipur Police confirmed the seizures in a recent bulletin detailing two distinct enforcement actions.
In the first operation, personnel targeted the Leishangthem Khong Manung area on Sunday, where they apprehended two suspected drug traffickers. Officials identified the men as 24-year-old MM Mustakim and 19-year-old Md Imtiyaz Ahmad. Authorities seized 540 grams of suspected heroin, or brown sugar, along with the suspects' vehicle. Follow-up questioning led police to arrest Md Sajid Khan, a 28-year-old from Lilong Leihaokhong, who was found carrying 288 capsules of Serratiopeptidase.
A separate raid near the Lamphel Police Station resulted in the capture of 47-year-old Khundrakpam Seitabahon Singh. During this search, officers recovered two .32 calibre pistols, their magazines, and a box containing 14 rounds of ammunition. Police officials stated that the suspect is a native of Uripok Laikhurembi Leikai who was "reportedly residing at Langol Leima Khullen Leikai in Imphal West district." Investigations into these incidents remain ongoing as security forces continue efforts to curb the flow of illegal goods in the region.
