Imphal: Security forces raided a stash of illegal hardware in Manipur. The operation targeted the general area of Tamei and nearby locations along the IT Road in Tamenglong district on July 7. Troops pulled a variety of lethal gear from the ground.

The recovery list included three carbine machine guns with magazines, two .32 calibre pistols with magazines, and an AK-47 assault rifle. Forces also found three lathod guns, two barrel-loaded guns, 82 live rounds of ammunition, and one bulletproof jacket.

Officials processed the gear under standard legal procedures. Investigators are now working to track the origin of the hardware and the people who hid it. An official statement noted, "Further investigation is underway to ascertain the source and intended use of the recovered arms and to identify those responsible for concealing them."
