Imphal: Security forces pulled over a Tata Yodha vehicle at the T. Khullen Naka Check Point in Senapati district on Sunday morning. Officers found 42 soap cases stuffed with suspected brown sugar hidden inside. The load weighed 530 grams.
A combined team from the Senapati Police Special Operation Team, Women Police Station, and two CRPF battalions conducted the stop. They arrested Helkho Kipgen, 45, and Hatneilhing Kipgen, 40, both from Kangpokpi district. Police took the suspects into custody after completing legal formalities.
The haul did not stop at the drugs. Officials seized the Tata Yodha vehicle, a green sack, two mobile phones, an Aadhaar card, and a purse holding 5,000 rupees. Senapati Police Station now holds the case. Authorities stated, "Further investigation and legal proceedings are underway."
