Agartala: North District Police and the 97 Battalion of the Border Security Force conducted a joint operation near the Raghna border on Saturday, successfully intercepting a large shipment of illegal narcotics. The recovery, valued at approximately ₹50 lakh, follows an intelligence tip-off regarding suspicious activity near the Dharmanagar Police Station area.

Security personnel discovered 48 abandoned packets discarded near the barbed-wire fence close to the Raghna Integrated Check Post. Upon inspection, officials found a total of 9,427 Yaba tablets inside the stash. Investigators believe the smugglers retreated after sensing the presence of law enforcement officers in the vicinity.

Authorities have taken the narcotics into custody to pursue further legal proceedings. While no arrests have been made, officials are working to identify the individuals responsible for the attempted trafficking. Security remains heightened in the region following the discovery, which officials described as a major success, noting that the recovery is "a significant blow to drug trafficking networks operating in the region."
