Imphal: Security forces successfully rescued a kidnapped man in the border town of Moreh on Thursday, marking a significant operation in Manipur. The victim, 50-year-old Ngamsom Baite from B. Bongjang village, was abducted by suspected militants earlier this week. Acting on specific intelligence, personnel tracked him to the Gate No. 1 area near the Moreh Police Station and secured his release.

The Manipur Police confirmed the successful mission on social media, stating, "The rescued person has since been handed over to his family." Authorities have launched a formal investigation to determine the exact motive behind the abduction and to identify the perpetrators involved in the kidnapping.

In a separate operation on June 18, security forces targeted the banned KCP (MFL) outfit in the Kakching district. Officers arrested four suspected cadres accused of running extortion rackets and facilitating the illegal supply of weapons. The suspects include Moirangthem Tondomba Singh, Wahengbam Inao Singh, Nongmaithem David Meitei, and Maibam Lokendro Singh. Officials are continuing their investigation to map the broader network linked to these individuals.
