Security Forces Neutralize UKNA Militant in Manipur Operation

Imphal: A joint task force consisting of the Assam Rifles and the Indian Army neutralized a United Kuki National Army militant during a targeted operation in the Henglep Sub-Division of Manipur. The mission began on June 16 following intelligence reports regarding the movement of armed cadres within the Churachandpur district.

Troops navigated challenging terrain and poor weather to locate the site. When security forces approached the militant hideout, they were met with gunfire. During the ensuing engagement, one militant was killed, while other members of the group managed to escape into the surrounding area.

Following the clash, the security forces cleared the site and dismantled several fortified bunkers. The team recovered a significant collection of weapons, ammunition, and various military supplies. The Assam Rifles stated that the operation "dealt a significant setback to militant activities in the area and highlighted the continued efforts of security forces to maintain peace and stability in the state."
