Imphal: Security forces captured a self-styled Lance Corporal of the Manipur Naga People Front in Imphal West district on June 22. They caught 24-year-old Siro Wungta, also known as Ronaldo, near the ISBT Gate at Khuman Lampak. The suspect lives in Tarong Village in Kamjong district.

Authorities identified the arrest as part of a wider push to maintain law and order. Security forces are currently running heavy search operations and area domination drills across sensitive fringe locations. Officials stated that the operation formed part of "ongoing security measures aimed at maintaining law and order and countering insurgent activities in vulnerable areas of the state."

Raids across the state yielded various arms and ammunition. Officials have not yet disclosed the exact count or type of weapons recovered. To tighten control, police installed 112 checkpoints across hill and valley regions throughout Manipur.
