Imphal: Security forces arrested a suspected Kuki National Front militant Tuesday near the Manipur-Assam border. The joint task force nabbed 22-year-old Md. Abdulla Hussain near Nungkhal Bridge after reports surfaced that armed thugs were terrorizing locals. Officers seized a .32 caliber pistol and six rounds of ammunition from his pockets.

Hussain faced interrogation. The intel led teams to Tamei in Tamenglong district for a massive sweep. They uncovered a significant haul of lethal hardware hidden in the brush. The cache included an AK-47, three carbine machine guns, lathod guns, barrel-loaded rifles, and a bulletproof jacket.

Police are still hunting for the source of the stash. Investigators want to know who hid the guns and what they planned to hit. Authorities have ramped up patrols in the hill country. Officials stated: "Security forces have intensified surveillance and continue search operations in the surrounding hill areas to prevent any further unlawful activities and maintain peace."
