Imphal: Security forces arrested six active members of various proscribed militant groups during a series of operations across Manipur on May 27 and 28. The raids targeted individuals linked to the RPF/PLA and KCP (PWG) organizations.

On May 28, authorities apprehended two RPF/PLA cadres, Taorem Manglemchandra Singh and Huirongbam Bembem Devi, for their alleged involvement in extorting money from clinics and pharmacies in the Imphal West district. On the same day, security personnel also arrested RPF/PLA member Ngangom Bimol Singh at his home in Sanjenbam Maning Leikai, where they recovered a mobile phone and an Aadhaar card.

Another operation on May 28 resulted in the arrest of Laishram Samananda Singh, an active member of the KCP (PWG). Officials seized a mobile phone and an Aadhaar card from his possession during the arrest.

These actions followed a sweep on May 27, where two additional KCP (PWG) cadres, Thokchom Tondonba Meitei and Ningthoujam Arunjit Meetei, were taken into custody. During this earlier operation, security forces recovered a significant cache of weaponry and equipment, including three 36 HE hand grenades, seven detonators, an extortion letter, and several mobile phones.
