Imphal: A joint task force of the Manipur Police, the Central Reserve Police Force, and the Assam Rifles arrested four men in Kangpokpi district on Monday. The operation took place between P. Molding and Leilon Vaiphei, where authorities are currently searching for six individuals abducted on May 13.

The suspects were identified as 51-year-old Thangkhomang Khongsai, 40-year-old Seikholet Khongsai, 27-year-old Lunminthang Dimngel, and 30-year-old Kamgoulal Khongsai. Security officials believe these men are active members of armed village volunteer groups operating in the area.

Investigators are looking into whether the four men played a role in the recent abductions. Beyond this case, police suspect the group has been involved in criminal intimidation, extortion, and the illegal possession of weapons. Authorities say the inquiry remains active as they work to confirm the specific involvement of the detainees in the disappearance of the six residents.
