Imphal: Manipur Police and central security forces arrested four alleged members of the banned Revolutionary People’s Front. The crackdown happened over the last 24 hours. The sweep aimed to dismantle militant networks and stop local extortion schemes.

Officers picked up two men at their homes during the first raid. They identified them as Ningthoujam Gulson Singh and Ng. Surjit Singh. Officials described Surjit Singh as the outfit's local finance secretary. The team recovered a haul of illegal weapons including a .32 calibre pistol, a DBBL gun, and a STEYR M9-A1 pistol with six live rounds.

Interrogations provided fresh leads. Security forces then moved to the Tengnoupal district. They grabbed two more suspects, Laishram Henry Singh and Soibam Quinton Singh, near Border Pillar-86. Police confirmed, "All four arrested individuals, along with the seized arms and ammunition, have been handed over to the respective police stations for further investigation and legal action."

These raids follow a spike in counter-insurgency efforts throughout the state. Authorities continue to hunt for hidden weapons caches. The suspects now face formal legal proceedings.
