Imphal: Security forces arrested four active members of various insurgent groups during targeted operations across Manipur on May 24 and 25. The individuals were taken into custody following separate missions in the Imphal East and Bishnupur districts.
On May 24, personnel apprehended two members of the National Revolutionary Front of Manipur in the Pangei Nepali Basti area of Imphal East. The suspects, 28-year-old Moirangthem Samson Meitei and 22-year-old Chanambam Nabakumar Meetei, were found with two mobile phones. Both men are originally from Bishnupur district.
Operations continued on May 25, resulting in the arrest of two additional suspects. Authorities detained 34-year-old Md. Satibur Rahaman, a cadre of the Kangleipak Communist Party, at his residence in Khabeisoi Sabal Leikai. A mobile phone was recovered during this arrest. In a separate action the same day, security forces captured 30-year-old Oinam Shelung Singh of the Kanglei Yaol Kanba Lup near his home in Seijang Awang Leikai.
Officials stated that investigations into all four cases are currently ongoing.
