Imphal: Security forces arrested four members of underground militant groups during a series of operations in Imphal East district on May 24 and 25. The crackdown targeted several active cadres as part of ongoing efforts to maintain regional security.
On May 25, authorities arrested Oinam Shelung Singh, a 30-year-old member of the Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup, at his home in Seijang Awang Leikai. During a separate operation that same day, police captured Md. Satibur Rahaman, a 34-year-old active cadre of the Kanglei Yaol Kanba Lup, at his residence in Khabeisoi Sabal Leikai. Officials seized a mobile phone from Rahaman during the arrest.
These actions followed an operation on May 24 in Pangei Nepali Basti, where security personnel detained two members of the National Revolutionary Front of Manipur. The men were identified as 28-year-old Moirangthem Samson Meitei and 22-year-old Chanambam Nabakumar Meetei. Both suspects were residing in Pangei Nepali Basti at the time of their capture, though they are originally from the Bishnupur district. Authorities confirmed that investigations into all four cases are continuing.
