Agartala: Sub-Divisional Magistrate officials issued a firm directive to clear all illegal encroachments lining the national highway in Kanchanpur. Temporary shops and unauthorized structures clog the route. They must go.

This order targets businesses that crept onto government land near the main road. The administration expects shop owners to vacate these spots immediately to restore traffic flow and pedestrian access.

The local SDM noted that the drive aims to fix ongoing safety issues on the highway. Officials confirmed that this action is part of a wider effort to clear public paths. "The removal of these encroachments is necessary to ensure the smooth movement of vehicles and people," the administration stated.

Heavy equipment will likely move in if stall owners refuse to leave on their own. The local government intends to keep the shoulder of the highway clear for future road development.
