Shillong: The Rotary Club Orchid City handed out six Vocational Excellence Awards on Thursday. The event packed the State Convention Centre in Shillong. Organizers honored Ferrinard Lyngdoh Marshillong, Aibor Andrew, Starina Jasain, Sunny Mawlong, Dr. Rittwik Barman, and Fr. Michael Makri.

These recipients earned praise for their professional track records and dedication to the public. Paul Lyngdoh, an adviser to the Social Welfare Department, served as the chief guest for the evening. He told the crowd that true excellence is measured by the willingness to serve others. He urged residents to copy the integrity these winners show.

Club members want to spotlight people who hold high ethical standards in their work. They aim to push the next generation to pair a solid career with a helping hand. The ceremony finished by highlighting the Rotary motto: “Service Above Self.”
