Imphal: RIMS Imphal brought a high-end Digital Mammography Machine online Monday. The device sits in the Department of Radiodiagnosis. It uses 3D Tomosynthesis to get clearer images of breast tissue. Early detection saves lives.
Director Prof. G. Sunilkumar Sharma cut the ribbon. He oversaw the ceremony alongside Medical Superintendent Prof. N. Sanjib Singh and Dean Prof. L. Rajesh Singh. They hope this gear boosts local breast cancer screening efforts. The institute stated the system is a "significant milestone in improving diagnostic facilities and advancing women's healthcare services."
Faculty, students, and nursing staff packed the room for the rollout. The hospital leadership believes this upgrade fills a gap in regional medical care. It provides doctors with better tools to find tumors sooner. Everyone at the institute expects this tech to change patient outcomes for the better.
