Rashtrahit Sarvopari Sangathan Launches Chalo Manipur Movement

Imphal: Rashtrahit Sarvopari Sangathan joined forces with spiritual leaders and Manipuri representatives in New Delhi to launch the Chalo Manipur movement. They want the federal government to secure the state’s borders and protect its indigenous people. The region remains gripped by a long-standing ethnic conflict.

Displacement numbers climb. Highways are blocked. Economic ruin grips the state. Santa Nahakpam, General Secretary of the United Committee of Manipur, and Dr. Kammei Heera Kabui, President of the Kabui Union Manipur, detailed the dire reality on the ground during the press conference.

The group demands the National Register of Citizens use 1951 as the base year. They want this finished before the national Census to prevent illegal immigration. "NRC First, Census Next—Save Indigenous Manipur," the organizers declared.

Security forces must act. The organization pushed for aggressive moves against insurgent groups currently fanning the flames of instability. They also demanded the immediate reopening of blocked national highways and the safe return of displaced families to their ancestral homes. High-profile attendees included Swami Dhananjay Ji, Sadhu Ram Tiwari, Mukesh Jain, and Netrapal Sharma.
