Guwahati: Ranabir Roychoudhury, a retired banker and respected figure in Guwahati's cultural community, died on June 21 at age 68. A long-time resident of J.C. Das Road in Panbazar, he was remembered by friends and family for his deep devotion to the arts.

His interest in music began early in life. During his time as a student at Cotton College, he was famously recognized as the institution's best singer. This accolade highlighted a lifelong passion that persisted long after he established his professional career in the banking sector.

Beyond his professional life, Roychoudhury remained a fixture in local social circles. His passing has left a void among those who knew him, including members of the city's cultural fraternity. He is survived by his wife and two sons.
