Guwahati: The Public Relations Council of India, Guwahati Chapter, recently hosted a national webinar to examine how shifting audience mindsets influence digital engagement. The event attracted roughly 50 participants, including media enthusiasts, corporate communicators, and academics, who gathered to discuss the evolving landscape of public relations.
Member Gaurav Gautam Saha analyzed user behavior across major platforms like X, Facebook, and LinkedIn. He addressed the phenomenon of doom scrolling and provided strategies for creators to foster more meaningful interactions. Following this, Joint Secretary Rajshree Goswami explored the integration of artificial intelligence in marketing. She explained how tools such as Claude Code help professionals improve content personalization and automate complex strategies.
Subhankar Banerjee, the PRCI Guwahati Chapter Chairperson, discussed the transition from traditional communication models to modern digital systems. He reflected on enduring communication principles and noted that storytelling remains the core of the industry. He stated, "While communication platforms have changed, the need for clear and authentic storytelling remains important."
The session featured insights from several PRCI National Executive members and state leadership, including Nurul Islam Laskar. This event is part of a broader push by the chapter to enhance industry skills. Recently, the organization established Young Communicators Clubs at Assam Don Bosco University and Girijananda Choudhury University to offer mentorship and hands-on experience to students.
