Kohima: Sanis and Bhandari will go dark on July 6. The Department of Power in Kohima ordered a total electricity shutdown from 9 am to 4 pm to handle emergency maintenance on the 132kV Doyang-Sanis and Sanis-Wokha transmission lines.
Crews plan to clear vegetation and perform necessary repairs during the seven-hour window. These upgrades aim to keep the local grid running and prevent future blackouts. The Executive Engineer of the Transmission Division stated that the work is "unavoidable and necessary to prevent disruption and maintain reliable services."
Officials are asking residents to bear with the service gap. The department needs this clear space to work safely on the lines.
