Kohima: The Power Grid Corporation of India Limited handed over an Advanced Life Support ambulance to Dr. Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital in Mokokchung on July 8. The donation comes as part of the company's social responsibility program. Nagaland Legislative Assembly Speaker Sharingain Longkumer attended the ceremony at the hospital grounds.

Longkumer praised the company for the gift. He pointed to a history of preventable deaths caused by a lack of proper transport. "Many lives had been lost in the past due to the absence of such facilities," Longkumer said during his address. He expects the vehicle to cut response times and improve critical care access.

Local officials and hospital staff joined the event. Deputy Commissioner Ajit Kumar Verma and PowerGrid Chief Manager Thapara Deori spoke on the benefits of the new equipment. Medical Superintendent Dr. Alemwapang Aier and Ao Senden president Marsanen Imsong also addressed the crowd. Longkumer officially flagged off the vehicle to begin its service to the community.
