Itanagar: Banderdewa police intercepted a scooter at the state check gate on Wednesday. They found 24.44 grams of heroin tucked inside a helmet. The drugs were packed into 19 vials inside a black plastic bag.

Officers stopped a TVS N-Torq scooter as it moved from Assam into Arunachal Pradesh. They arrested 29-year-old Godak Rajesh, a man from the Kamle district. A team led by Inspector Kipa Hamak managed the operation under orders from ASP Rishi Longdo.

The force booked Rajesh under Section 21(b) of the NDPS Act at Banderdewa Police Station. Detectives are now digging into the suspect's network to find the source of the stash.

SP Nyelam Nega says the crackdown on regional drug trade will not stop. He noted, "Strict action will continue against drug traffickers and peddlers." Police maintain they are hunting for the supply chain behind this smuggling attempt.
