Police Seize Cattle Trucks in Kaliabor

Guwahati: Police in Kaliabor seized two vehicles late on May 26 after discovering they were carrying 33 cattle illegally. Officers intercepted the trucks on the Kuwaritol highway while the animals were being moved from Upper Assam toward Meghalaya.

Authorities rescued all 33 cattle and took the two vehicles, registered as AS 23 DC 5148 and AS 02 DC 8045, into custody. Four men were detained during the operation.

The detainees are Wahid Khan and Rafikul Islam from Sivasagar, as well as Hafizul Islam and Nawab Sirajuddin from Rupahihat. Local police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
