Police rule out foul play in Wokha man’s death

Kohima: Police discovered the body of 30-year-old Nzanthung Kikon inside his rented home near the Fishery area in Tsumang A on June 25. Officers arrived at the scene around 1:50 p.m. after receiving a call about the death. The victim was found hanging inside the residence.

Wokha Additional Superintendent of Police Biren Lotha confirmed the death is currently being handled as a suicide. Investigators stated that there were no indications of foul play. "Preliminary findings revealed that the deceased was found hanging inside the house where he had been staying," police reported.

Kikon was a divorced man with no children. His relatives declined a formal post-mortem examination. Authorities finished the legal paperwork and released the body to the family for funeral rites.
