Guwahati: Sanitation workers made a grim find at a municipal dump in Assam on Friday. While offloading trash from a collection truck in Jorhat, they spotted a human skull buried in the waste. Local officials rushed to the site to secure the area and start a formal inquiry.
The remains featured a wire attachment and the marking B4, pointing toward an origin in a medical classroom or laboratory. A municipal staffer noted the discovery: "A human skull was recovered from our garbage collection vehicle today. As soon as we found it, we informed the police and the district administration. The Circle Officer also reached the spot. Police have started an investigation. A wire is tied to the skull and B4 is written on it. It appears it may have been used for educational or medical purposes and was accidentally thrown away with the garbage."
Police seized the specimen for forensic analysis. Investigators are now tracking how the bone ended up in the city trash. They want to know if a school or hospital dumped it illegally. Officials continue to search for the source of the skull as the investigation moves forward.
