Agartala: Three minor girls missing from a remote village in Tripura’s Dhalai district turned up in Gujarat this week. Police launched a search after the teens vanished from Ganganagar. Officers now suspect a human trafficking ring. The girls are aged 15 and 16 and left school early.

Tripura police worked with Gujarat authorities to track the girls from Ganganagar to Agartala, then through Kolkata. They finally landed in Ahmedabad. Police monitored their live locations and shared transit documents in real time. Gujarat officers detained the group eight hours after they left the airport. Police identified a suspect named Mukesh Reang from the Ganganagar area.

"They were allegedly promised jobs. This could be a case of human trafficking, but the matter is under investigation," said Additional Superintendent of Police Uttam Banik. The girls spoke to their parents via video call but initially resisted coming home. Officials have booked the suspect under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. A team from Tripura is now traveling to Gujarat to bring the girls back under transit remand.
