Guwahati: Police pulled the semi-decomposed body of Vishnu Kumar Ram from a deep drain in Bongaigaon, Assam. The 36-year-old was a former member of the Sashastra Seema Bal. He was found in Ward No. 15.
Local residents spotted the remains floating in the water. They alerted the authorities immediately. A large police team arrived at the scene to retrieve the body.
Police have not yet determined how Ram died. The investigation remains open. Authorities are now looking into the circumstances surrounding the incident. The discovery has shaken the local community and the man's grieving family.
