Guwahati: Police in Silchar, Assam, took Rupak Roy into custody after a string of violent crimes. Roy, also known as Badshah, faces accusations of robbery, extortion, and physical intimidation. He allegedly used the name of the Bajrang Dal to carry out these attacks. Police registered the case at the Silchar Sadar Police Station.

Investigators are now digging through evidence to confirm the extent of his criminal activity. Roy remains in police lockup while the probe continues. He is not talking. Officers are gathering statements from victims to build their case.

Bajrang Dal officials moved fast to cut ties with the suspect. They claim they kicked Roy out over eighteen months ago for breaking organizational rules. The group refuses to own any of his alleged crimes. A spokesperson stated, "The organisation also clarified that it would not take responsibility for any criminal activities allegedly committed by individuals misusing its name."

If the evidence proves Roy committed these crimes, the Bajrang Dal says they support full prosecution. Local residents are watching the case closely as police finalize their findings.
