Guwahati: South Salmara police raided a passenger boat and seized a massive haul of illegal narcotics. The bust netted a stash of suspected tablets and cough syrup. It was a clean hit. Officers arrested Rajib Miah on the scene for his role in the operation.

Police have taken the contraband into custody and booked Miah under state law. The department is working to track the origin of the drugs and identify the rest of the trafficking ring. Officials stated, "Further investigation is underway to ascertain the source and intended destination of the consignment, as well as to identify others involved in the alleged trafficking network."

This raid marks the latest push by Assam law enforcement to shut down the transit of illicit substances. The state police continue to monitor river routes to curb illegal sales.
