Itanagar: Tirap police hauled in 39-year-old Nyamyang Thingnok on June 25. Officers nabbed her at Batey Colony in Deomali. The arrest follows a long hunt for the suspect. She had been on the run since mid-May.

Police seized 51 grams of suspected heroin during the raid. They also found 9,700 rupees in cash and a mobile phone at her home. Inspector Wangke Ronrang and Sub-Inspector Ngalo Jilen led the operation. Executive Magistrate Toko Kacha oversaw the evidence collection. Everything was sealed on the spot.

Thingnok is no stranger to handcuffs. She already has a prior record under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. Investigators linked her to a drug ring involving Sandiya Deb and Sunil Gurung, who were caught back on May 15. The police department is keeping the pressure on. Officials stated: "The Deomali Police and district administration said they would continue their crackdown on drug trafficking and appealed to residents to share credible information on narcotics-related activities to help make Deomali and Tirap district drug-free."
