Police Bust Dhubri Drug Runner With Over 100 Capsules

Guwahati: Dhubri police nabbed a suspected drug runner Sunday night. Officers stopped an e-rickshaw near Bidyapara More around 8 pm after receiving a tip about a local shipment. The driver, Tarif Ahmed from Bidyapara Ward No. 8, is now in custody.

Police searched the vehicle and found 132 Spas Plus capsules weighing 135.12 grams. They also grabbed a mobile phone and Rs 700 in cash. Officials seized the e-rickshaw, registered as AS-17ER-8529, as evidence.

Officer-in-Charge Pritam Das led the operation from the Dhubri Sadar Police Station. Authorities confirmed the arrest followed "specific intelligence inputs" regarding the distribution of illegal substances. Investigators are now tracking the supply chain to find other people involved in the trafficking network.
