Guwahati: Rupahihat police arrested two suspected drug peddlers in Assam's Nagaon district following a targeted anti-narcotics operation in the Latabowa area. The suspects, identified as Jabed Ali and Aftab Ali, were taken into custody after officers discovered 24 containers filled with illegal substances.
Authorities confirmed that the seized contraband weighed approximately 36.88 grams. During the raid, officers also confiscated a four-wheeler with the registration number AS 02Z 9008, which police believe was used to transport the narcotics.
The suspects are currently facing interrogation as investigators work to track the origin of the drugs and identify other members of the trafficking network. Rupahihat Police stated that anti-drug operations in the area will continue as part of ongoing efforts to "curb the trafficking and sale of narcotic substances in the district." Additional investigations are expected to follow as police look to dismantle the supply chain involved.
