Police Arrest Two Suspected Drug Peddlers in Guwahati Railway Raid

Guwahati: Guwahati police and Crime Branch officials arrested two suspected drug traffickers following a raid at the city's railway station parking lot. The operation led to the apprehension of Rajib Das and Rahul Ali after authorities received intelligence regarding narcotics activity in the area.

During the search, officers discovered 12.69 grams of suspected heroin hidden within a soap case. The police team also confiscated two mobile phones and 43,300 rupees in cash from the individuals. Both suspects are currently in custody for further questioning.

Law enforcement officials have registered a formal case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. Regarding the ongoing efforts to secure the region, local authorities stated, "The crackdown against drug trafficking and peddling will continue as part of the ongoing efforts to curb the narcotics network in Guwahati."
