Police Arrest Two Spa Owners in Silchar Trafficking Case

Guwahati: Assam Police caught two fugitives Saturday night. Rohit Debnath and Rupali Das faced weeks on the run after authorities linked them to a human trafficking and prostitution racket. The duo owned two spa centers operating out of a Silchar commercial complex.

Cachar Additional Superintendent of Police Manas Saikia confirmed the arrests. Officers tracked the pair down during a special operation to close the case. The arrests follow a June 25 raid on Lotus Spa and Lovely Spa where police detained 28 women.

"Further investigation into the case is underway," police stated. Investigators originally flagged the businesses for illegal activity last month. The suspects avoided capture until Saturday night. Both remain in custody as the probe continues.
