Police Arrest Seven in Assam Cattle Slaughter Raid

Guwahati: Dhubri police arrested seven men on Tuesday after catching them slaughtering cattle. Officers raided a site behind the railway line at Modergola in Jhagrarpar Part-IV. The team acted on a tip-off. They arrived to find the men in the middle of the act.

Police seized 90 kilograms of suspected beef along with the tools used to butcher the animal. The suspects range in age from 25 to 50. Officials identified the arrested men as Jahan Uddin, Rohim Uddin, Hatem Ali, Marjur Ali, Hashem Ali, Nurul Islam, and Rofiqul Islam. All live locally.

Authorities have registered a case against the group and started legal proceedings. Investigators are now checking if these men belong to a wider syndicate. Police confirmed, "Further investigation is underway." Officers want to know how far this operation reaches.
