Poachers caught hunting wild birds in Nagaon

Guwahati: Illegal hunting continues to plague Nagaon, Assam. Residents at Singimari in Bhakat Gaon, located under the Manipur Top Panchayat, report that a group has trapped and killed thousands of wild birds for a long time. These poachers use nets and traps to capture various species across the area.

The situation turned chaotic when a correspondent arrived on the scene following a tip-off. The suspects spotted the camera and fled the area instantly. Locals want the Forest Department to intervene. Residents demand authorities track down the culprits, stating, "Nature lovers and local residents have now urged the Forest Department to take strict action against those involved and ensure the early apprehension of the alleged poachers who fled the spot."
