Kohima: The District Consultative Committee-cum-District Level Review Committee for Phek met Wednesday at the DC Conference Hall to evaluate progress for the quarter ending in December. Deputy Commissioner Rhosietho Nguori chaired the session, which included Advisor for CAWD and Taxes Kudecho Khamo alongside representatives from the district administration, the Reserve Bank of India, NABARD, and local bank managers.

During the meeting, participants reviewed the district's eight priority sectors, Financial Literacy Camps, and plans to expand the digital payment ecosystem. Kudecho Khamo emphasized the urgent need for a new ATM in the Rukizu Ward of Pfutsero to serve residents from Sakraba and nearby areas. He encouraged banks to maintain a regular schedule of literacy camps to better inform the public about available services.

Khamo urged banks to increase their proactive support for agriculture, horticulture, and livestock, noting their vital role in boosting the local economy. He also advocated for greater backing of entrepreneurs and MSMEs. He reminded the assembly that the actions of a few loan defaulters should not undermine the potential of young, hardworking individuals, suggesting that banks build stronger partnerships with promising entrepreneurs in their communities to foster collective growth.
