Peren Farmers Get Livestock Boost from ICAR Scientists

Kohima: Scientists from the Indian Veterinary Research Institute teamed up with KVK Peren to hand out supplies to farmers in Jalukie. The June 26 event focused on building local agricultural output. It brought researchers and rural growers together for a hands-on session.

Col. Mohit Kumar Bansal of the 9th Assam Rifles attended as the chief guest. He praised the effort to equip the district with new resources. "Such support would significantly enhance productivity and improve livelihoods of the farming community," Bansal said.

Dr. H.R. Meena of the IVRI promised more help is on the way. He pledged continued collaboration to boost skills and provide better gear. The team gave out ducklings, chicks, and feed to farmers from across the district.

Technical staff led the workshops. Dr. Babita Devi explained how to spot and stop common animal diseases. Z. James Kikon tackled soil problems and local solutions. The event ended with a vote of thanks as the farmers headed home with their new livestock.
