Kohima: The Phom Baptist Christian Association Women Department finished a three-day leadership workshop on August 13. The event took place at the PBCC Mission Centre in Yisisotha, Meluri district. It started on August 11. A total of 113 delegates from the PBCC Women Department and Christian Education Department showed up.
Leaders wanted to sharpen skills. They focused on structural organization, professionalism in the workplace, and pulpit etiquette. Participants practiced mock funeral services and learned how to provide professional counseling for grieving families. They also studied an inductive Bible study method.
Children's pastors joined craft sessions. They learned to use local resources to teach kids. The group also tackled the issue of violence against children. Health matters were not ignored. The organizers held basic health talks and led workout sessions using Zumba to keep leaders fit. P Angbhen Phom, Rev Mongvai, and Chulei Phom served as resource persons for the event.
The training aimed to sharpen church leaders. Organizers stated the intent was to ensure attendees "take up leadership roles and responsibilities with informed skills, approaches and practical knowledge." Women Secretary P Angbhenla Phom led the initiative to boost competence and sensitivity across the ministry.
