Guwahati: Residents of Pathsala in the Bajali district of Assam are demanding a new railway overbridge. The current level crossing near the Pathsala Railway Station creates constant gridlock. Trains passing through force the gate shut. Traffic backs up for hours.

This road acts as a vital artery for locals in Titka, Dubi, Gunori, Jalikhata, Bargandubi, and Sarthebari. Daily commuters, including office workers and students, lose valuable time waiting for the crossing to clear. Emergency vehicles often get stuck in the chaos. Students even struggle to reach test sites on time.

Locals want the Railway Department and the state government to intervene immediately. They claim the construction of an overbridge will solve the chronic congestion. The residents stated, "The proposed overbridge would help ease traffic congestion and improve the movement of vehicles and pedestrians in the area."
