Passenger Dies After Falling From Train at New Bongaigaon Junction

Guwahati: Puranjay Kachari died Sunday, August 2, after falling from a moving train at New Bongaigaon Junction in the Bongaigaon district of Assam. The fatal accident occurred at Platform No. 2 as Kachari attempted to climb off the train. He slipped and landed directly onto the tracks. The impact was brutal.

Kachari suffered severed legs during the fall. Bystanders rushed the man to a nearby private hospital for urgent care. Doctors at Lower Assam Hospital declared him dead upon arrival. The loss of life has hit the community hard.

Angry family members and locals pointed fingers at the station. They claimed neglect by railway authorities caused the tragedy. "Family members and locals alleged that negligence on the part of the railway authorities contributed to the accident." The Railways have yet to release an official statement regarding these accusations.
