Imphal: Government officials and media leaders met at a Vartalap Media Workshop in Imphal on Thursday. They focused on how education and inclusive growth drive the country forward. Dr. Engam Pame of the Press Information Bureau said the constitution promises dignity for everyone. He told attendees that the government works to ensure no one misses out on basics like water and electricity.
Pame pointed to the National Education Policy as a tool to fix gaps in schools. He asked the public to take responsibility for the future. "The Indian Constitution guarantees equality and a life of dignity to every citizen," Pame said. He noted that the workshop location holds personal history, as it once housed the local PIB office.
Dr. Th. Charanjeet Singh from the Manipur government spoke on the need for better communication. He said journalists act as a bridge between official policy and the people. If information does not travel fast, citizens cannot get the help they need. The event included leaders from the All Manipur Working Journalists Union and the Editors Guild Manipur. They looked at how to share better data on economic reforms and schooling.
